Christine McVie was born Christine Anne Perfect on July 12th 1944 in Grenodd, Lancashire. Her father,Cyril, was a college professor and violinist. Her mother, Beatrice, was a psychic. Christine has been playing the piano since she was four.

Her first band was called Shades of Blue. She played bass. The next band she played in was a group called Chicken Shack. She played keyboards and sang backing vocals.

Christine Met John McVie in a Windsor Jazz and Blues Festival. He was playing bass for John Mayall's Bluesbreakers at the time. Later that same year he joined Mick Fleetwood and Peter Green's group Fleetwood Mac. Christine became a devoted fan and followed the group around.

After a short courtship John and Chris were married. A year later Christine retired from the music business to become a housewife.

The retirment was short lived. Christine went back into the studio and recorded her first solo album "Christine Perfect". In 1970 Christine was asked to join Fleetwood Mac. And the rest, as they say, is history.

*** FLEETWOOD MAC ATTACK ***

The band had already recived much popularity in England, and after several incarnations the band came to America,and recruited Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. The next album, "Fleetwood Mac" made it big in the states. Chris wrote two memorable classics. The albums first single, "Over My Head", and "Say You Love Me".

The next album made mega stars out of Fleetwood Mac. With Stevie's "Dreams" becoming Fleetwood Mac's first and only number one single, and Christine's "Don't Stop" making number two. Rumors was thrust into the number one spot. Rumors stayed on the charts for many weeks and became the third bestselling album of all time.

After Rumors came Tusk. After Tusk came Mirage, and another memorable classic was born. "Hold Me", a song about Christine's rocky relationship with former Beach Boy Dennis Wilson, reached the Billboard top 10. A video was made, and became in my opinion a great moment in M.T.V. history.

After Mirage the group took a break to do their own solo projects. Christine released her second solo album, "Christine McVie". The single, "Got A Hold On Me", reached number ten on the Billboard charts.

After a few more solo projects Christine was asked to do a remake of Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling In Love" for the movie A Fine Mess. She asked Lindsey to help and after the project was finished Fleetwood Mac went back to the studio to record Tango In The Night.

After Tango In The Night Lindsey left the group. Soon after Stevie also left then Christine. Fleetwood Mac was over...or so everone thought.
